Fall Pumpkin

This Fall Pumpkin was inspired by Barb Lewis, she showed how to use a thick book and shape it into a pumpkin [ Aug 2021]

Here is how to make it:

Take a piece of paper and fold it in ½.  (You want to be sure your paper covers the height of your book.)  Then you draw the pumpkin shape you want, keeping the height of the book.  Now cut it out, and open the paper back up you will see what shape your pumpkin will be.

Once you get the pumpkin shape you want.  You hold your paper that is haved, up to your paperback book, trace it on the cover, and then cut.

Continue cutting in that way throughout your whole book, including the back cover.  When finished cutting, Glue your back cover to your front cover and give your book a wiggle until your pages fill out in the way you want them.

I took mine outside and sprayed a mist of orange on it to give a hint of color. (You don’t have to do that part if you don’t want to.)  I also cut a thick branch to make a stem, and glued it to the top.  Continue decorating your pumpkin by using items such as ribbon, wire, moss, leaves, etc.
